Lomax Assembly of God was started in 1959 in a borrowed tent on an acre of land with twelve charter members.  Today we are in our new 24,000 sq. ft. facility on seven acres of debt free land with nearly 400 people attending our weekly services.  Most of that growth has taken place since January of 2000 when God brought Pastor Jeff Calhoun and his family together with fifty-five people, who were attending Lomax at that time, who were ready to advance the Kingdom of God and fulfill God's plan for Lomax Assembly of God.

  The people of Lomax have come together from all walks of life.  Some have come from a life that did not involve church or God.  Others have come back to the God that they knew in their past while yet others have come from broken churches run by religious people.  All of them found Lomax to be a place of unconditional love and acceptance.  We are a body of people of all races and social and economical status.  Christians, sinners, and hypocrites all attend here so come join us!

  Here at Lomax we desire to see every person of every age grow in their knowledge of and relationship with Jesus Christ.  We provide classes, activities and services for everyone of every age to build knowledge of God's word,  relationships with God's people, and spiritual growth in God's presence.  The praise and worship is contemporary and passionate and the preaching of God's word is powerful and relevant to your life.

  Here at Lomax our greatest desire is to see people's lives change by an experience with Jesus Christ.  We desire to place those who are called by God to minister where God called them to be placed to minister.  We also desire to offer opportunities to everyone to minister through church ministries, community outreaches, and missions trips around the world.  We offer opportunities for investing financially to feed those who are starving through "Convoy of Hope" to distribute the word of God by purchasing Fire Bibles, and to finance world and home missions. All of this at home and around the world! We invite you to come and find your place in what God is doing here at Lomax!
